Reflection
This semester of digital applications has taught me a bunch of new ways to be creative on the computer. The class taught me how to use blogger, excel, windows movie maker and other programs. The class gave me ways to create presentations that are not just basic power point. In my eyes i think that there were three projects that interested me the most and these are the three that i feel i took the most away from. those three projects are, Windows Movie Maker and The brochure project and the Webpage project. these to me were the most difficult things we did and the class which meant i looked deeper and deeper in to how to use the programs, and by the time i finished i felt like a pro. The digital storytelling project gave me a new way to present, i liked that project because it was something that i actually enjoyed doing because it was about me. in the story telling project i could show people something important to me in a cool and creative way. the learning process of that was also fun and easy to the point where i was able to teach others about using the program. In the brochure project i learned how to create something simple that i can take away and use in my career field. Learning how to create that brochure was just something different and it was very appealing to me. the final excel project was something i am glad we did because i want to go into the accounting field and we will have to use excel a lot to plug in data and keep records or financial things.

Sharing a tip
A good tip to share is instead of buying your songs on iTunes from the iTunes store, you can convert them on the internet. The way that you do that is you go onto YouTube and you choose the song that you want. Once you have your song you copy the link and then you go to one of your favorite converters. Two really good ones are 2conv and clipconverter. I always use these websites to download music because its also free!
I can show you step by step on how to do it...
First you find the song that you want to get

I strongly recommend using these converters because you save so much money and so that iTunes doesn't rip you off with the amount that they charge for songs.
Final Reflection
In this Digital Applications class I have learned so many new things that I did not know that I could do. I learned more a lot about Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Microsoft Exel. I also learned how to write blogs about myself and other topics. I also found out how to make my own webpage and put all of my information onto it and put pictures and edit it so that it was perfect and how to make brochures. I even made a slideshow with pictures, music and transitions and I had to upload it to youtube, which I have never done before.
I really enjoyed this class because now I know how to do a lot more on the computer and I can use my knowledge of using these applications to help other people. My three big takeaways were writing blogs, making slideshows, and making power points.
I loved writing blogs about certain topics because I got to express myself and I put up whatever photos I wanted. I even expanded more on other peoples blogs by commenting on them and telling them my input.
When I heard that we had to make up a slideshow I got really excited because all throughout middle school I would play around and make little slideshows but I also never really knew what I was doing but when I made mine this time I knew exactly what I was doing. I learned how to put all the music in it and cut it where I wanted to and I also put special transitions in it. I have to say this one was my favorite project.
Another takeaway was making the power points. This class helped me really expand on how to put hyperlinks and how to put videos and pictures into it. I also learned how to make a professional slide show and an ePortfolio.
I am very happy that this was a requirement here at Nichols College, because if it wasn't I probably would not have taken it and I would not have learned so much from it.

Final reflection ITM
After taking this class I have
gained many computer skills that I had no idea about prior to taking this
class. I learned about blogging for the first time, which I found at first to
be a pain but once I got into it I got to like it and want to do it more and
more. I would say the three top “takeaways” from this class was one learning to
blog and expand on others blogs in general. I liked having to write about a
specific topic and then expand on another’s and relate to it. The second take
away was learning to upload you tube videos and making my own video in a group.
I found it fun to make a movie then edit it and upload it onto the web to watch
and share with friends. The third was making an e-portfolio, which is important
for future reference in creating a professional portfolio for job interviews.
After taking this class I gained more knowledge that I
originally had in computer technology especially using excel which was my
biggest weakness in making charts and collecting data form survey monkey. I
think this course is a key component to getting ready for the real world and
college in bettering my skills with computers to get certain projects done. I
think that since technology is advancing so fast it is key to keep up and understand
the basics to various technology skills no matter what field it may be you are
trying to peruse. I am happy that I got
to take this course and learn a lot more than I thought I did in general
technology skills.
Final Reflection
FINAL
REFLECTION
In this blog reflection, I am going to
be answering the question “What I have gained in this class and how?. I will
also be talking about two or three different projects we did in class.
One of the projects we did was making a
video, called digital story telling, with voices and different pictures and video clips. We did this either by
ourselves or with a partner. I chose to do this with a partner who is my
roommate and best friend. We made a video about our friendship. In the video we
kind have had trouble in the beginning because we both have macs so it was
different than how we learned it in class. At the end of it all, it ended up
being a very good video and we both learned how to make a video.
Another thing we had to do was make a blog post every week.
In the beginning I did not know how to make a blog, but by the end of this
semester, I am now very good at making blogs. Making a blog is very simple,
even though it seems hard. All you have to do is start a new blog and type
away. As a class we have all made about five blogs each, including this one.
Another project that we did was making our own webpage. This
seemed very challenging for me in the beginning, but with some help I was able
to understand it much better. Even though it was still a little tricky to
understand, all you really have to do is just play around with everything until
you find what you’re looking for and how you want it set up.
Overall I really did enjoy this class because it helped me
learn more about technology and things that I never learned before, or things I
would not have learned if I didn’t take this class.
Final Reflection: Carter Moots
Reflection
This
class really improved my knowledge on how to use not only Microsoft word, but
also excel PowerPoint, blogger, and many other programs I never used
before. I am very prepared for the
future in my field thanks to this class.
I worked with many different technologies and you expanded my horizon
when it comes to technology. I enjoyed
working in groups and doing projects. To
be honest with you, my grade in this class does not consist with the amount of
effort and heart I put into all of my work.
I have a terrible grade in digital applications, and I’m not really sure
how. If every project I did wasn’t graded
so hard, I would have enjoyed this class a lot better. The amount of things technology wise I
learned is ridiculous and my grade does not reflect the amount I have
learned.
One
thing I enjoyed doing in this class was blogging and getting my opinion out
there for people to see. Not only did I
have fun doing that, but it was fun telling you stuff like our dream
destinations and so on and so forth. I
looked forward to digital apps homework most nights, which is hard to say for
any other class. Another project that
really pushed me was the excel project.
I am terrible with numbers and graphs so this was a challenge for
me. Although I got a terrible grade on
that assignment, I learned a lot from it as a matter of fact. If I had not done this project, I would still
have the slightest clue of to how to work excel. In the future when I am applying for jobs or
a internship, I will have a much better background technology wise which is
great and that is what the 21st century is all about.
To be
honest with you, I am very upset with how my grade in this class turned
out. I did not miss any classes
unexcused, I might have missed one blog assignment, and somehow I am
failing. If my grade was not so low in
this class it would very well be my favorite class.

Things I have learn from Information Technology Management
I have learned so many things from this class over the past three months. These things include: blogging, making Portfolio, creating my own website, accuracy, and last but not least time management. In life we all use blogger whether it’s to ask a question respond to something you may find really important etc. People all over the world today use blogger for their every day communication especially people in the lower parts of the world who can’t afford to buy cell phones and laptops. I have never used a blogger or blog anything in my life until I took this class. It has showed me that there are different ways to spread answer and responds to people. Blog helps a lot when someone doesn’t want to have anything to do with social networking. It can be private, no pictures to show the person’s face or no information about the person. In today’s society portfolio helps to make interviewers easier, it gets the reader a better idea of the person, and the person’s skills and traits. Portfolio basically, gives the most important details of a person, their capability, their background and the person’s involvements etc. By making my portfolio in this class I feel like I have done my resume and I’m moving future towards my career with better preparations just by taking this class. I remember when my professor told me to create my own website, i had no idea what to do, how to start, or even end. Now look at me, I’m doing it all on my own and it is a really fun thing to make. It can be educational, fun, or even goofy. I love the fact that this class has expanded on my knowledge and actually push me further in everything that I didn’t know or used before. Every time someone ask what is something interesting about you that we don’t know, I can gladly say I know how to make website.
Through these past months I have gained the knowledge of how important accuracy can be. In recent research over thousands of people have gone about telling stories and giving information that are not accurate. I have surely learn that be accurate is the safe and easier way to go. Being accurate with information help others and can sometimes solve a puzzle or crime. The more accurate you are the better grade one tends to get in the class and the more questions and advice people seem to seek. Last but not least time management, plays a huge role in today’s society. Young adults like me really don’t know what time management is. However, after taking this class I have seen how important and efficient it is in our lives. It helps to plan ones day, make work done easier and better, and it helps to let people think more. I have learned to hand my assignments on time etc. Also, the most important aspect that I have gained from this class is that in the business world without time management one cannot make it. Time management is everything or one will get left behind.
Final Reflection
I had a good time in this class this year, I learned how to use a lot of different programs that I wasn't use to using. I have learned so many different computer skills while being in this class. A couple big takeways from this class would be, Excel and the video maker. Both of these programs I was not good at before this class. But after learning how to use them and doing projects with them, I understood the concept of both programs very well afterwards. If I didn't take this class my freshman year I wouldn't of recieved the computer skills that I did while taking this course. Digital Apps is a class every freshman should have to take, because it really helps you with so many different programs on the computer. It also helped me with all of my other classes, because I had many different computer projects I had to do. I also enjoyed doing some of the projects and the blogs because they were interesting and I actually had a good time blogging about the topics. From taking Digital Apps I knew how to use all of the different programs. I really did enjoy this class and it was a very helpful class to take my freshman year of college.
Finial Relfection
I thought that this class was very helpful and learned a lot this semester with using a computer and all the different programs you can use. If I didn't have this class for my freshman year it definitely would of made projects I had for other classes more difficult to complete and take me twice as long to do. The most helpful lesson was on Excel, I only really knew how to insert numbers into the cells, but what we learned in Excel was totally different. We learned how to put in long sentences and turn them around so they fit in the cells, and also all the formulas that automatically calculated sums of over 50 numbers for you. If I didn't have learned all that it would have been very difficult for me to have done numerous statistics projects that involved a lot of medians and means to calculate. But the most interesting thing we learned how to do was blog. I have never had a tumbler or blogged in my life until this class, and i thought it was a huge complicated process that you had to go through to create one. But it turned out to be easy and is definitely worth it from all the information you can get from other people on there posts. This class was very helpful and Im glad I got the opportunity to take it and learn a lot from it.

Reflection for Digital Apps
Luckily, my second semester here at Nichols College as a freshman has been a success. I was so happy that I had such great professors and enjoyed each and every one of my classes. Most students refer to Digital Apps as an “easy A” but I think it is very challenging. Learning more than just the basics about Microsoft excel, publisher, and many more programs has helped me with other classes, not just Digital Apps. In Statistics this semester, I had project which required me to research a topic and generate graphs and formulas using excel. I would not have known how to do this if it weren’t for this Digital Apps course. Knowing just the basics about all these computer programs isn’t enough. With Digital Apps I have gained so much additional knowledge regarding how to do various things on the computer. Some of my best work has come out of the projects I was assigned in this class. I feel like I could definitely help a classmate who may not have taken this course, and is not as familiar with some of the technology as I am. My favorite part of this class is blogging. Blogging is an online website where you can write about basically anything you like and get other peoples thoughts and responses. It was my favorite part of the course because the topics we had to write about were very interesting. Topics like “my favorite vacation spot “are very easy to write and fun to respond to. One project that I had a difficult time with was the “making your own webpage” assignment. I had trouble figuring it out at first. However, once I did figure it out it was actually fun to do and easier that I first thought. After putting so much time into the work I did in this class I managed to get great grades on all of my projects and it was a fun learning experience. I am glad that I was in this class because knowing about Microsoft Excel and publisher not only helps me now in school, but I am sure it will help me in future job opportunities. I learned how to be organized and how important it is to be professional with your work. I won’t ever forget how this course gave me the skills to use some new technology, and I am excited to see how it helps me in the future!

REFLECTION

Of course the majority of the classroom has used documents such as word and some powerpoint in high school, I know that I did. But, in high school we typed up our papers, and played around with powerpoint as much as we could. This course has furthered our knowledge in these areas, which leads me to one of my "takeaways" from this course. I am a junior, so I have spent a lot of my time typing papers into microsoft word, but these were just papers. I was aware of the formatting palette on the side, but never needed to do anything much more than type the paper, and pass it in. I wasn't familiar with the endless amount of things you can do with one picture including wrapping the image in text, changing styles and effects, changing the backgrounds, changing color, transparency, etc. We learned this through our flyer assignment. I became more knowledgeable on Word, which I plan to use a lot of these skills in future assignments. Using all Word has to offer can differentiate my paper from other students, so that I am very thankful for.
Creating a website would be another one of the bigger things I took from this course. Beforehand, I never knew how to create a website on my own, and I never had an interest. I didn't think I would ever need to know how and wasn't interesting in learning how to because I thought it would be a lot more complicated than it was! How great would it look during an interview if they asked you about your technology skills, and you can say you created a website? In my opinion, I believe this sounds pretty impressive. Will I ever need to create a website? I'm not sure because I am not sure where my career path leads me, but if I didn't have to make one for this site..I would have never learned on my own. This assignment taught me to not always shoot down learning new things. A lot of things throughout life can teach you that when brought into an area outside of your comfort zone. From this assignment I took away not only knowledge of creating a website, but another lesson I hope to follow.

Final Reflection
Reflection of Digital Applications
From my digital applications class, I have learned many
new things that I will take with me throughout college and potentially to the
workplace. I was familiar with many of the programs that we used in digital
applications but there were a few things that I learned about and learned how
to use.
One program we used that I found interesting and useful
was Windows Live Movie Maker. I have never used this program before, nor did I know
that I even had it on my computer. I found this program very useful and
enjoyable. I really liked this program because it allowed me to use my own
pictures very easily and also allowed me to be creative. I could use pictures,
texts, voice recordings, videos, and music to personalize my video. I enjoy
creative projects like this and I will without a doubt, be using this program
again in the future. I have gained the knowledge of Windows Live Movie Maker by
creating my “Best Friend” video.
Another thing that I will take away from digital
applications is the use of survey monkey. I have not used this program either
and I found it very easy to use. It was easy to navigate and it was free; free
is always a plus. I have never created a survey before and I found it very
interesting to use. I liked the fact that we were able to post our surveys to
facebook; a site that almost everyone we know uses. I liked that we were able
to see the results afterwards and survey monkey did not give us a time limit on
anything. We could create, modify and gather the results easily and on our own
time.
The final thing that I gained from this class
was the use of blogs. I have never blogged before and I was exposed to a new
way of communication. Blogging is a great way to express our thoughts and
opinions on products, situations and experiences. I gained technological knowledge
in digital applications that let me be creative but also informative. I will
take this new knowledge with me throughout college and the workplace.

Final Reflection
I have learned more about the
computer technologies I use on a daily basis this semester in ITM than I have
learned over years of using it. The class was extremely effective in teaching
me how to use the various Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Power
Point, and Movie maker. To me the two most important tools I learned that will
most likely benefit me in other classes were Power Point, and Excel.
I knew
how to use Power Point before ITM but I didn’t know how much I could do with it
to make projects look professional. Learning how to put music and videos into
the presentation was helpful, as well as putting my voice using the microphone
on Sound recorder. Working in groups was
also a learning experience because we got to break up the project and email it
to each other to put the final product together.
Learning
how to use Excel was also very helpful because I have never used it before. I
knew what it was and that I had it on my computer but I didn’t really know what
it was. Now that I know how to work it I can see myself using it for future
projects and being successful with it.
Over
all ITM taught me so much about the programs I have already had on my computer
but didn’t really fully understand their potential. This class will help me be
successful in other future classes.
