Lindsey Stewart

My name is, Lindsey Stewart.  I am from Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  Every summer I currently work at a resort called, Popponnesset Inn, in Mashpee, Massachusetts.  I work at a snack bar by the pool, and I also waitress nights inside at the restaurant and outside by the beach.  I am a freshman at Nichols College in Dudley, Ma.  I play soccer here at Nichols College.  Soccer is my favorite sport and i like good competition while play, I was leading goal scorer at my high school since freshman year.  I also play basketball, but mainly just for fun.  I like to hangout with family and friends on my free time, go to the beach, and do a lot of things outdoors. During this course I want to make sure I know how to use the different offices, and publishers.  I want to be able to know how to use them one hundred percent.  The blog I researched about was Cristiano Ronaldo he is a famous soccer player, and I have watched him play for years. I always loved the way he played soccer, and admired his technique of playing the sport.  For years I would watch the videos he was in just juggling the soccer ball or doing new tricks, and then I would try to teach myself the same tricks as in the video.  This blog talks a lot about different aspects of Cristiano Ronaldo's career and some of the achievements he has made.  Another made reason why I like reading his blogs and other things about him is because he really cares about his fans and he makes an effort to get his fans involved in his life. I really like how he does a lot of funding's and charities. He is not one of those people that is an amazing athlete and rich and only cares about himself, he cares about others very much.  He does anything he can do help people out that are in need.  Lastly even though he does not speak english too well, he still tries his best and makes videos speaking english and thanking his American fans.

Hi I'm Taylor Gillespie

Hi my name is Taylor Gillespie and I am a freshman at Nichols College. For my major I am undecided and not leaning towards anything right now. I am from Harrison, New York. Harrison is forty minutes north of New York City. Harrison is such a friendly town, everyone basically knows everyone. Since I'm from New York my favorite sports teams are the New York Giants, New York Jets and the New York Rangers. Football and Hockey are the only two sports I like to watch. I've been doing sports ever since I could walk. I've done so many different types of sports but my all time favorite ones are swimming, dancing and figure skating. I used to swim for Harrison High School but since swimming runs in my family my aunt had me in the pool teaching me how to swim at 6 months old. I danced for the New Dance Company since I was 2 and I skated for the Rye figure Skating Club at Playland from the ages of 3-12.  During the summer I worked at a country club in Rye, New York called Manursing Island Club. There I am a day camp couselor and a hostess at night. Manursing is my second home. Especially during the summer. I love listening to music. My favorite type is EDM which stands for electric dance music. I love going to EDM concerts to see my favorite DJ's perform like Alesso, Thomas Gold, Avicii, DaDa Life and Swedish House Mafia. I also love Dave Matthews Band. 

The Kerb a Lerb

A fun fact about me is I am obsessed with my dog Kerby. Kerby is a golden retriever and he is my best friend. I call him the Kerb a Lerb, I even made a Facebook for him and he has about 25 friends. He loves to cuddle. Kerby is the happiest puppy I've ever had. I used to have a chocolate lab named Mulligan but she passed away when I was in middle school and I had another golden retriever before Kerby named Schotzie, but he died when I was in high school. 

My favorite blog website is pinterest and tumblr. I love looking on pinterest because it gives me ideas on stuff to do when I'm bored. I also love tumblr because I like looking at artsy pictures. The main categories I look at on Pinterest are design, hair and beauty, food and DIY & crafts. I like to get good ideas on different hair styles to do, different designs on my nails and yummy foods to make.

My name is Jalen and i am from Hartford, CT. I went to high school in Farmington, CT. I am a freshman at Nichols College and i am majoring in accounting. At home i live with my mom and step dad, i also live with my two sisters and little brother. In my free time i like to do a lot of things, i like to play basketball, video games, go out to eat and just chill with all my friends. My favorite NBA team is is the L.A. Clippers, my favorite video game is NBA 2K13 and my all time favorite movies are Space Jam and The Lion King. In the past i have done a lot of work with kids in grades k-9th at a summer basketball camp in Farmington. At this camp i helped teach kids some of the fundamentals of basketball and also spent time getting to know them and playing around with them.

From this class i am hoping to gain a lot, i want to learn how to blog and use various programs on the computer. i am trying to learn how to use Microsoft office more and use it at a higher level. With this class i am just trying to learn new things and do stuff i have never done before.

The blog on NBA.com is very credible because it is on a very professional website, the NBA is a big organization that does a lot of work around the world. They provide people with great entertainment and they also give back to their communities with out reach programs and try to give kids hope that they can do something special with their lives. This blog interests me because it is about basketball which is my favorite sport, also because videos are posted about things that have happened around the NBA. There are videos of crazy buzzer-beaters, dunks, shots and blocks; this blog gives me something to look at in my free time and keeps me entertained

A Little Bit About Me

                                                                                                          

My name is Nicolas B. Saint Jean Jr. my friends call me Nick. I graduated last year from Medford High School, I am class of 2016 at Nichols. My hometown is Medford MA. I am Creole, originally from Haiti, I speak French, Haitian Creole, and I know a little of Mauritius Creole. I moved to the U.S. in September, 2009. During those past few years I have learned how to speak English, also how to play football. Back in Haiti I used to play soccer and I was really good at it. I just wanted to try something new and I fell in love for the game of football not only because I am good at it but because it teaches me about life itself. It also helped me overcome some of my biggest fears. Now it is a huge part of my life. That is because of football I am here this year at Nichols College telling you my story. I got recruited my senior, I had never heard of Nichols College before but when I came for my visit, I liked the school. The first thing I noticed about Nichols was how small the school is and how everybody knew each other. I liked that feeling. I wanted to fill that gap of brotherhood that had with my teammates back in high school. I did not play football this year, because I had nerve damage in my neck and lower back due to a car crash on a high way in New York last summer. I hope this year I am eligible to be back on the field this spring with whom I call my brothers. That depends on how things go with rehab. I also hope this semester I make the Dean's list highest honor, I made the honor but i was not really satisfy with it because I know I could have done better. My true color is gold. That is pretty much all about me, for now. 

I hope by the end of this course, I will become more professional on using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher. I know those softwares are really important in the business word, so I am really interest on gaining those knowledges, to apply them in my future jobs. Also I am looking forward to learn how to create a web site.

A blog that really interest me is called "Red Bull Space Jump" it was published on Slate on October 15, 2012 by Will Oremus. It interests me because people are doing amazing and impossible things that they set their minds to. They failed a bunch of time but when they do succeed, it is really beautiful because now they are one of a kind. Felix Baumgartner plumbed 24 miles from the earth, and he broke two records. It was said and on paper that man could only jump 19.5 miles from the earth. He was moving so fast that he broke the speed of sound. He made the impossible become the possible.

  

Travis Robarge In A Nutshell

My name is Travis Robarge and I am from Chelmsford Massachusetts. I was born in Lowell and lived there for six years, while growing up between Lowel and Chelmsford where i live now. I went to Chelmsford schools my whole life and graduated from Chelmsford High School. Throughout high school i wrestled for my school and boxed in lowell with Micky Ward and Dick Ecklund. Most people around school know them only as the characters from the movie The Fighter. I am currently majoring in Sports Management and hope to get a job within the advertising side of sports after i graduate. Immediatly after graduating I will be going into the United States Air Force as an Officer to become a Fighter Pilot.

By taking this course i hope to get a better understanding of technology and how to adapt to different programs. I am going to be working with a lot of technology within the Air Force so it will be nice to have at least a base in the field. I will also be using a lot of different computer programs when I start to work in the advertisement failed.

One of my all time favorite blog sites is mmamania.com. Its a very reliable blog that publishes stories written by authors that have been in the mixed martial arts field for years. One article that really seemed to hit me was about the former UFC champion Brock Lesnar. Lesnar has signed a two-year contract with the WWE instead of returning to the UFC. This is extremely upsetting to UFC fans especially due to the fact that Lesnar was an inch away from getting another fight and restarting is MMA career.

Jeffrey Turrini

My name is Jeffrey Turrini and I am from Southwick, Massachusetts. I am a freshman here at Nichols College. My major is management and I plan to graduate Nichols College with a Bachelor’s degree in Management. My hobbies include dirt bike riding, playing soccer, playing ice hockey, skiing, and spending time with my dogs. I have two German shepherds named Jet and Bruno who at first sight might be frightening but in reality these two dogs wouldn’t hurt a fly. In the past I worked for Subway for a short time making sandwiches on the weekends in a local Walmart. But when I was of age my father let me start working in our family machine shop. My father and my uncle run a fifty-man machine shop that specializes in aircraft engine components, called Jet Industries Inc. My older brother Steven works as a full-time machinist and walks to work everyday because he lives very close to the shop. I work full-time in the summer, usually working between forty and fifty hours a week. For my job I either drive around picking up and dropping off parts to and from our company. But just recently my father started me training in machining. I worked with a machinist and he taught be how to run a milling machine. I never would have thought machining would be so complex but it is and can even get dangerous if you are not careful.

I hope to learn how to take full advantage of Microsoft Excel because I barely know how to use it. Also, I’m glad we are Blogging because I never really knew what it was and now I will be doing it in this class.

The blog I found comes from the website Bartstoolsports.com. It is titled “Obama Says If He Had A Son He Wouldn’t Let Him Play Football” and explains how our president shows concern for college athletes and NFL athletes because of the harm they do to their bodies and to their opponents. I enjoy the website barstool sports because it is a constantly updated with blogs on topics mostly concerning sports but touch on global issues as well.

Brandon Johnson

My name is Brandon Johnson. I'm an 18 year old, 5'4 and a half, freshman at Nichols College. My major is English but I'm thinking also about Hospitality. My favorite color is green. I drive a green '97 Toyota 4Runner back at home. I was born and raised in the same house in Dorchester, a town located in South Boston. In my house lives my mom, my dad, my two aunts and my 39 year old brother. I was originally in a catholic school in Roxbury, another town in Boston, form kindergarten to second grade before it closed. After that my parents signed me up for the METCO program which allowed me to go to schools located in the suburbs. So, like my brother did years ago, I was accepted into the program and followed the footsteps of my brother by going to his old k-8 school in Brookline (a suburb close to North Boston), the Michael Driscoll School, and then graduating from Brookline High School. Some of my favorite activities to do is to go skateboarding, snowboarding, playing drums, bass guitar, and piano, hanging out with my family and friends, play soccer sometimes, but mostly I love relaxing. Out of everything that I do, skateboarding is my favorite thing to do. You could ask me any question about its culture, tricks, professional skaters, the sneakers, and I could give you the best possible answer. I always had a dream of being sponsored by my two favorite companies (and also the companies I am currently riding), DGK (Dirty Ghetto Kids) Skateboards and Supra Footwear. Two of my favorite skaters are currently sponsored by both of these companies and the video posted is of one of them named Keelan Dadd who recently went from being an Am. to a Pro.  From this class I want to learn more about how I can use computers to my advantage. I have a general grasp of what to do for Powerpoints and Excel, but I'd like to know more. I work well with computers but taking this class really would help me out a lot. A blog site that really interests me is Tumblr. Tumblr is a blog site that can engulf you in someone else's world. Pictures, videos, and possibly anything you can think of is shared and brought together. I had a Tumblr since April and I stopped using it for a few months until my friend got me back into it. Some People call it an addiction but I think its fun and a good way to kill some time.

Simone Pizzonia

My name is Simone and I am from New Milford, Connecticut. In the summer I work as a lifeguard at a private beach in the town over from mine. I graduated from New Milford High School with a class of over 400 students. I played soccer all four years, being apart of the first girls soccer team in our schools history to win the South west conference title. It such a thrill and we all worked very hard for the title, it was such an awesome experience. In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends, as well as my family. I like to go the beach and play soccer with my friends.
What I hope to learn from this class is how to properly use blogs and how to use the different types of publishers. I hope that by the time this class is over I will be able to use all the different publishers, and be able to use them to my best ability. This particular blog interests me because it talks about the soccer best-run in the league. It also interests me because it talks about the revenue of the league and what everything costs and what the amount adds up to after every season. I like how it talks about the different countries in the world and which counties rank higher price values in their venues. It is interesting to know which country has the top prices values with soccer. Bundesliga is the broadest and most sustainable revenue system in the sport, which has been and still is argued about. It talks about in which ways Bundesliga is the top country for soccer and what ticket sales they have in their venue that are higher than other countries sales. I like to read the New York Times to see the different blogs in them, and that is where I found this blog, it also really caught my eye because it had to do with soccer. The different points in the blog really interested me, and I learned a lot more different aspects of soccer.

I am Taylor Sapia. I live in Stamford, Connecticut. I am a freshman at Nichols College. My major is Education, but I am not sure exactly what subject. For Middle and High school I went to a catholic school and ended up actually liking it. I used to cheer all throughout Elementary, Middle and High School, but decided not to in college. I have been dancing since I was about three years old. My favorite sport teams are the New York Mets and Jets. Baseball and football are my two favorite sports to watch. In the summer I work at a camp in Greenwich, CT called Innis Arden Golf Club Summer Camp. At the camp I was a counselor. Some of the members would ask me to babysit so that was also something else I did. My favorite color is pink and green. My favorite season is the summer. I love to go to the beach and go swimming in the ocean when I can. All about Anjali Rowe

My name is Anjali Rowe, I was born in Kingston, Jamaica and moved to the Untied States when I was two years old. I am from Newington, Connecticut. For the most part I really enjoyed highschool I made good friendships and played soccer and ran track for my school. Some fun facts about me are that my favorite color is purple, Chris Brown is one of my favorite music artist among others, my favorite sport is soccer- I have been playing since first grade, before coming to college I played on a premier team that was called FSA United FC and currently play soccer here at Nichols College. I am a freshman here at the college. I am majoring in Psychology and hope to some day work for DCF. While taking this class I hope to learn different programs on computers that will help me in the future with professional activites. The blog that I chose is a blog that is all about soccer girl problems in the blog it talks about all the problems that girls who play soccer go through from as little as picking out what color pre-wrap to wear at practices or games to other problems such as not being able to hang out with friends because your always busy, having blisters 24/7, and getting turf burn. Some of the other things that is on this blog are people who post questions/comments on things and then the creator of the blog will post answers and comments back on it. The reason why I chose to write about this blog is because soccer is one of my passions and I like to read things that other soccer players post. I know that this blog is crediable because it came off of a popular website that alot of people use to post blogs about various topics.

Barry O'Neil

      My name is Barry O’Neil. I am nine-teen year old freshman here at Nichols College. I was born and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, more specifically Falmouth. Growing up on Cape Cod I learned to love the ocean and became very comfortable on it. My family owns a boat and I spend as much time during the summer as I can on it. Taking my boat to Martha’s Vineyard and spending the day there with friends is my favorite thing to do during the summer. I also like to golf and play hockey. Hockey has been a lifelong passion of mine and is why I attended Nichols, along with of course the education that comes with it. I am a criminal justice major and hope when I graduate to find a job in law enforcement that is exciting and pays well.

        Taking ITM will be a good way of getting more familiar with programs on the computer and hopefully will make me a more versatile student when working on group projects and projects on my own. There are so many different things one can do on a computer and hopefully ITM will teach me how to use the important ones.

        The blog I chose is about the Boston Bruins because hockey is my biggest interest and I am excited that the NHL lockout is over. The blog talks about all of the recent events that the Bruins have taken part in. It talks about each game in detail and gives short articles on them as well. This Bruins Blog is credible because it is written by the writers of the Boston Globe, a major news company that covers everything in the Boston area.

My name is Sarah Ward and I am a freshman at Nichols College, majoring in hospitality management. I was born and raised in Quincy MA for 18 long years and it is one of my favorite places in this entire world. I wish I could talk about past work experience but it is literally impossible for me to hold a job for more then three days because I have always been to busy doing other things and have always been to preoccupied with my friends and sports, mostly cheerleading, to focus on having a job. I am a cheerleader, I have been a cheerleader for 7 years now and I am currently considered to be a Nichols College cheerleader, and I love it. I am very proud to say that my team and I have made it to compete at nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. I am extremely excited for this chance to go there because I have never been before and I think it will be a really fun experience for me and all my teammates, as well as a good bonding time for us. We will practice everyday for 3 days but on our free time we will be able to go to the beach and have fun there and enjoy our relaxation time together. Taking this class I hope to learn more about modern technology and more about windows, I always have been pretty confused about certain things on windows so I am excited to learn more about it so I will be more intelligent with the computer because I think in todays generation that is extremely important. Hopefully by the end of this course I will have taken a lot out of it and I can teach others the stuff I have learned. Looking up different blogs for ideas for things to write about in the future I found an interesting blog about cheerleading and the concusions that are caused from it http://www.nfinity.com/nfinity-blog/2011/08/20/concussions-in-cheerleading-happen-less-with-proper-progressions/  I thought this was an interesting blog to me because I am so into cheerleading and it is always good to know about the injuries that may happen to us and what the precautions are that you should take when sustaining a concussion like the ones that you read about here. I found this blog to be extremely interesting and had a lot of information that I can take out of it and even share with my team.

    

       My name is Shaneka Grant. I am a Criminal Justice Major with a Psychology minor. I make up one percentage of the criminal justice club. I was born and raised in Spanish Town, Jamaica. April of this year will make three years since I have been living the United States. However, I am now living in Milford, Ct 06461.  I have travel fourteen states since i have been here.I speak a different language which is the Jamaican Patois, which is a mixture of broken English and French. When I am in Milford I works as a cashier at expect discounts.  I enjoy dancing, listening to music and being sarcastic. My favorite subject is mathematics, my favorite rapping group is young money, and my favorite movie is love don’t cost a thing. I was a part of the 4 H club and Girl Scout in Milford where I did various volunteering work. For the past two and a half years I have been on honor roll. I received the teachers most respectable senior award last year June. I love to play soccer, I have a passion for dancing and my favorite artists are lil Wayne and vybz kartel. During my spear time I enjoy listening to reggae and dancehall music. My favorite dish is stew peas and favorite ice cream is greatnuts.  I love to shop and spend money. My two favorite quotes are I tried to pay attend, but attend paid me by Lil Wayne and I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst then you sure don’t deserve me at my best by Marilyn Monroe. My grade level over the past years are A’s and B’s. I hope to gain or improve in my computer skills in this course,be better in communication, critical thinking, leadership, and I want to be able to understand more in technology ,and also know how to be more advance in Microsoft excel etc. While looking on clothes because I love to shop I ran into a website called Chictopia . I chose this blog because I enjoy shopping in this store and they have varieties of cute outfits. This blog interest me in many ways because it shows clothing design for all different ages and in all different styles and sizes. This blog shows all the season outter wear and whats in style from the latest to the newest. Also this blog let people enjoy buying clothes and give them the feel to visit the store.It is Credible to me because I love to shop and make my own design of clothing.Also,I would like to have a minor in Business Management so I can open my own clothing line. People from all around the world like forever 21 clothing and wear them daily. The outfits are for all different ocassion and they are very comfortable.

Stacie Converse

My name is Stacie Converse, I'm nineteen, and I'm a freshman at Nichols College. I plan on graduating with a major in Marketing. The reason I chose this field is because I have a strong interest in advertising. I think that it is a marketing tool that is extrememly important to the success of businesses. When I'm not in school I spend my time hanging out with friends, working, and cheerleading. I cheer for the college team and this spring we are proud to be competing in the National competition in Daytona, Florida.

 

 

 

 

Being committed to this team is a lot of hard work. It has helped me with time management and teamwork. I've learned similiar characteristics through part time jobs as a sales associate at Calvin Klein, a hostess at Red Robin, and a Babysitter on the weekends. Having to work for my money definitely helped me realize the value of a dollar and the importance of maintaining a budget. In this Digital Applications course I hope to become more familiar with skills in technology. Our culture is extrememly technologically advanced and our involvement of technology in our day to day lives increases everyday. With that being said, in order to establish yourself as a knowledgable and professional candidate for a job, it is important to be skilled when it comes to the computer.

Another course I find interesting here is Criminal Justice. Althought I don't plan to major in this field, I'm still intrigued. Because of this interest, I found an online FBI blog. The blog has many interesting headline stories involving online hit-men, sex trafficking, crime statistics, and the recent tools and gadgets used in crime solving. It's a really interesting blog and it is maintained by the government. The site has contact info as well as publication info to certify that it is in fact run by the FBI.

     I'm Hayley Clifford and I'm from Upton, Massachusetts. I'm a freshman here at Nichols college and I plan on majoring in finance. I was a resident during my fall semester, and will be commuting during this Spring semester. I live in Upton with my mom, step dad, brother and sister. I attended Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical high school ; here I was in the business technology shop and I played volleyball. I work at Milford Federal Savings and Loan Association and have been working here for 3 years as a bank teller. Working here has interested me into majoring in finance.

     By taking Digital Applications, I hope to become more familiar with media. I would like to learn how to better incorporate it into projects and/or presentations. I would also like to be kept up to date with the latest social media site and news. Since media is such a huge part in today's society, its a great way to use media to stay updated on what is going on in the world.

One blog that I find interesting is the Huffington Post. Since I like to stay updated on what's going on in the world, the Huffington Post is a great blog to read. It keeps you updated with some celebrity gossip and political news. The Huffington Post has the latest news in politics, business, entertainment, technology, media, world news, healthy living, style, and comedy.

One story that I found interesting on this blog was the case of Casey Anthony. I followed this story when it first hit the news and the Huffington Post has kept me updated with the case. When I scroll down a page this story is something that always caught my eye. The latest news of Casey Anthony was that she is still on probation, she unemployed and she filed for bankruptcy. The Huffington Post is a credible blog that also has a videos, pictures and articles to share with the stories. You should go check it out!

Vineyard surf

My name is Alex Guest and I live on  Martha's Vineyard where I was born and raised my whole life.My hobbies are Kite boarding, Surfing, fishing, swimming, sailing, and golf. I attended School at the Martha's vineyard Regional High school which is one main high school derived from all the towns elementary schools on the island. I swam for my high school swim team and was captain for 2 years, played lacrosse and golf for my school with swimming. I currently do not play any sports for Nichols college. I am a international business major and a criminal justice minor. I am a volunteer firefighter for my hometown of Edgartown in which I've been part of the department for the past 3 years.
My past work experience is at Edgartown Golf Course for the past  5 years and Vineyard Vines for a season.
I am a freshman with a major in International Business who plans to develop my own company one day.In this course I hope to learn more about blogging in general considering Ive never blogged before.  I also hope to learn more about movie maker and excel. This class will help me to gain computer software knowledge and understand the Blogging world. I believe that this class will help me to better understand the social media world as it has evolved to be a major influence on society today.

This Blog I found to be very interesting to me because I love surfing and have an avid passion to be out  on the water.This blog is about the Final Oakley Pro Junior challenge Qualifier in France which contains some of the worlds  youngest world surfers under the age of 21. The world renowned Oakley Pro junior Global challenge is a extremely challenging event to see who is the best of the best. I know this is a credible blog because I found this on surfing magazine which is a popular surfing blog spot and news in the surfing world. This is a truly awesome surf challenge event that draws thousands of people from all over the globe to spectate. surfing for me is a way to get away from the world and just be one with the water. Ive been surfing for about 5 years where I have gone to Puerto Rico to the surfing capital  Called Rincon as well as sunset beach Hawaii. Growing up on an island really influences you to always be out on the water either paddle boarding, swimming, kiteboarding, surfing, and body boarding. Surfing for me is a way of life that many can relate to all over the world.

Joseph Beasley, Word for Word

My name is Joseph Beasley and I am from Eastham, MA. I currently work at Ben and Jerrys and I also am a waiter at a small African food restaruant down the road from my house. I am a freshman at Nichols College and am enjoying it so far. I like to play tennis and just about any and every sport under the sun. I also enjoy off roading in my jeep and have only had one bad experience. I hit a rough patch of sand and slid into a dried up cranberry bog. My jeep and myself were fine. My parents werent mad so it went over well. I plan on majoring in Marketing but ever since I took Microeconmics I've been thinking about taking Economics as a major. I hope to learn more about the software I use every day and become more skilled in general with microsoft.

I decided to write my blog about Ray Lewis. Although I am a big patriots fan I have always enjoyed watching Ray Lewis play. He has an impeccable work ethic that is hard to match. He could even be considered the best defensive player in the nfl. He has been a feared man for apponents for a solid 11 years. He is considered one if the best defensive players to ever play in the nfl not only because of his hard work and dedication to the sport but his ability to uplift his teammates and ability to succeed under extreme pressure. As NFL Nation Blog states "The Ravens should just put Lewis in the Ring of Honor on Sunday, which is likely his final game in Baltimore. They need to make his No. 52 the first one the franchise will retire. They need to build a statue of Lewis right next to Johnny Unitas outside M&T Bank Stadium. " Ray Lewis is an outstanding player, man, and father.

I am Carter Moots.  I am from New Milford CT, 06776. I have worked in a restaurant called Lucia, and at basketball camps for many years now.  I am a freshman attending Nichols college in Dudley Massachusetts   My major and minor are undeclared, I am looking forward to figuring them out very soon. When I am older i plan on owning my own business like my mother, father, and many of my siblings. I love being with my family and friends  and spending time with them.  Also, I like to travel and see new places and faces.  Over Christmas vacation I traveled to many islands around the world including Peurto Rico, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas to name a few.

In this course I am very anxious to learn about communication, critical thinking, leadership, and I want to be able to understand certain parts of technology better. There are so many things I have to learn in this field  and hopefully you will broaden my mind and make me much more knowledgeable.

The blog that I decided on is the The Sports Blogs because I am very interested in sports and could watch and learn about them all day.  On this blog there are so many different aspects of sports to read about that can be very knowledgeable. This blog is credible and reliable because you can tell just by first glance that people take this website very seriously.  I believe every kid in this class would like this specific blog because it has everything to do with current sports and it looks like we have a lot of athletes in this class.  Many citizens around the world use this on a daily basis to share what they believe about certain sports, teams, and players, and it is very interesting to read their thoughts and ideas.  

Colleen Guthrie

I am Colleen Guthrie; I am from the small town of Hamden, Connecticut . I’ve lived in Hamden my whole life. Hamden is a small town next to New Haven Connecticut, where everyone knows everyone and also it is a very warm and welcoming community. Hamden is very known for their youth hockey program, I grew up playing and watching ice hockey and I now work in the Hamden Ice Rink as a skate guard on Friday nights during public skating and I also work at the snack bar in the rink by taking orders and cooking the food for the players and fans. I am a freshman at Nichols College I am majoring in Psychology and double minoring in education and sports management.  When I graduate from Nichols I would like to work in the field of psychology or teach part time as a psychology teacher. Also I would like to go back to my old high school to be either become the head or assistant field hockey coach and build a winning program at Hamden High School.  I play both field hockey and softball at Nichols College. My hobbies are playing sports such as field hockey, ice hockey and softball. Besides playing sports I enjoy photography and nature. What I would like to get out to this course is that become better with using certain Microsoft applications and also to become more computer savvy with the new technology. Also how to make and create and also upload You Tube videos.  A very creatable and used blog that use a lot is a College Hockey Blog. This Blog shows users score and highlights of each game, the blog mainly show Division One hockey teams all across the United States.  This interests me because hockey is my favorite sport to watch and play and also I got to many college games while I am back home in Connecticut.

     Hi my name is Amber McCarthy, I was born in Putnam Connecticut, however, since I was 3 I have been living in Auburn, MA. I am currently a freshman attending Nichols College and recently have gone from a commuter to a resident. I am majoring in Human Resource Management, but may change to a Finance major. I went to Auburn Senior High-School which is only about fifteen minutes away from Nichols College.

Jackson

    For a little over 2.5 years now I have been working as a receptionist at Herb Chambers Toyota and Hyundai in Auburn. I was lucky enough to receive scholarships from the company, and enjoy the job I have.  I also worked at Subway at the Auburn mall, but that was honestly the worst job I've ever had and quit after 2 months.


Kieko

     Recently their has been a new addition to my family. I half one half sister, one step sister, 3 step brothers and in my family I now have a new half brother who is 7 months. His name is Jackson and I was fortunate enough to be able to be in the room while he was being delivered. Secretly Jackson is by far my favorite sibling, I am happy to be the only sibling that he will fall asleep for! Technically out of all these kids I am an only child. I am also the middle child.  To add to my rather large family I have two very large dogs. One is a husky lab named Kieko and the other a blood hound pointer named Huckleberry. My Dogs have literally grown up with me Kieko is the old man in the house and is going to be 19 years old in early February.  Huckleberry is 14 years old and was abused by his old family and was trained to be a fighting dog. Now you would never know that Huck was trained to fight because all he does is cuddle with you.

    What I hope to gain from this course is some added knowledge and tricks to use on computers. Even though I know how to use them well I tend to be the first one to break them. I am very excited at learning how to work excel. I have little to no knowledge on how it works at all and it will definitely help me in the long run.
 The blog that interests me the most is the London Olympics 2012 Blog. This blog is credible because it is the US addition of the Guardian.
