Hi my name is Amber McCarthy, I was born in Putnam Connecticut, however, since I was 3 I have been living in Auburn, MA. I am currently a freshman attending Nichols College and recently have gone from a commuter to a resident. I am majoring in Human Resource Management, but may change to a Finance major. I went to Auburn Senior High-School which is only about fifteen minutes away from Nichols College.

For a little over 2.5 years now I have been working as a receptionist at Herb Chambers Toyota and Hyundai in Auburn. I was lucky enough to receive scholarships from the company, and enjoy the job I have. I also worked at Subway at the Auburn mall, but that was honestly the worst job I've ever had and quit after 2 months.

Recently their has been a new addition to my family. I half one half sister, one step sister, 3 step brothers and in my family I now have a new half brother who is 7 months. His name is Jackson and I was fortunate enough to be able to be in the room while he was being delivered. Secretly Jackson is by far my favorite sibling, I am happy to be the only sibling that he will fall asleep for! Technically out of all these kids I am an only child. I am also the middle child. To add to my rather large family I have two very large dogs. One is a husky lab named Kieko and the other a blood hound pointer named Huckleberry. My Dogs have literally grown up with me Kieko is the old man in the house and is going to be 19 years old in early February. Huckleberry is 14 years old and was abused by his old family and was trained to be a fighting dog. Now you would never know that Huck was trained to fight because all he does is cuddle with you.

What I hope to gain from this course is some added knowledge and tricks to use on computers. Even though I know how to use them well I tend to be the first one to break them. I am very excited at learning how to work excel. I have little to no knowledge on how it works at all and it will definitely help me in the long run.
The blog that interests me the most is the London Olympics 2012 Blog. This blog is credible because it is the US addition of the Guardian.
Hi Amber, my name is Hayley and I don’t live too far from Auburn! I'm from Upton, Mass! I also plan on majoring in Finance. You were in my accounting class last year and we also have sociology together this semester. I think it’s awesome that you have such a large family. Little Jackson is adorable! I have a half sister and a step brother as well. I think it’s cool that you are technically an only child when you have a ton of siblings! I think your dogs are also so cute! I can't believe that Kieko is going to be 19, that's awesome, I’ve never heard of a dog being that old before. I have a golden retriever at my dad’s house and she’s treated like a princess. Having dogs in a family definitely makes it complete!
ReplyDeleteAmber, I really enjoyed reading your blog! I think it is pretty cool that you live in Auburn, because I am from Dudley which is really close to Auburn. I also think it's cool that you went to Auburn High School because our schools were rivals as I went to Northbridge High School. I also am planning on majoring in Finance. Last semester we had Expository Writing together, and we have Digital APPS together this semester. You're lucky that you got a job at Herb Chambers; I applied there before and never got a call back! I think that it would be pretty cool to work at a car dealership because I love cars. I am a commuter as well, do you like living in better than when you were commuting? I'm sure it saves you in gas at least! I'm actually really jealous that you have dogs, as I have never had one. Hopefully my parents will let me get one soon, if not I will get a dog when I get my own apartment.
