Tips on staying motivated to lose weight
Staying motivated to lose weight is a very huge topic in today’s society. It is the main talk in the streets no matter where you go. First the person has to feel the motivation on losing weight and really want it to happen. However the most help tips someone should keep in mind when they really want to stay motivated are : remember why you want to lose weight, try out small clothes, keep the diet with someone else, don’t make usual exceptions, be realistic about yourself, don’t find yourself excuses, don’t starve, Limit Your Small Pleasures, Do Not Eliminate Them, Drop your “perfect” mentality, Award Yourself Once in a While, Use The Social Networks, Don’t Switch to a Healthy Lifestyle All at Once, Sleep With Your Goal in Mind, Split Your Goal Into 3 Smaller Steps, and Evaluate Your Goal.
The first step when trying to stay motivated is always remembering why you want to lose the weight whether it is because you want to look more attractive, or you want to be able to fit into your old clothes, to feel good into yourself, or you want to be like your friends. After you decide the reason why you really want to lose weight then write it on a paper and stick it somewhere that you may see it every day. Second when you try small clothes and you notice it doesn’t fit, and then try it every day or on a daily basis to see the places in which you need improvement. Then by keeping the diet with someone close to you, your body then tends to feel more motivated. Like whenever my mom says she wants to lose weight everyone in my house goes on the same diet. Therefore she doesn’t have to feel left out and in herself feels like it is something good. Don’t make usual exceptions like whenever you go out to events you feel like you have to eat a piece of cake etc. stick to your diet and it will surely work.
Be realistic about yourself and by doing that eat healthy food which also have low calories. Don’t find yourself excuses such as I’m going with my daughter so I’m going to eat a piece of chocolate .by doing you are not going to establish a clear program. Don’t ever try to starve yourself, because it is known as your worst enemy. Starvation only ruins ones diet over time and makes it really bad for their health. Also choose a diet that will let you eat at certain hours. Limit your small pleasures, but you should not eliminate them. Instead you can eat something different for example if you feel for pies eat a banana. By dropping your perfect mentality so if you have cheated on your diet let that be the last time and don’t remain to cheat because then it will not be a successful diet at all. Award yourself once in a while so you feel the motivation. If you have been doing well such as; eating healthy, exercising and sleeping well. Then you can eat some dessert so the body doesn’t risk losing energy and concentration power. Use the social network if you’re someone who likes to be online. Then tell your friends about your diet and the progress you have been making. Don’t switch to a healthy lifestyle all at once because that let the body feels for bigger progress. Always sleep with your goal in mind, because the body will feel relax and sometimes gain new energy. When one sleeps the brain process and consider what the person was thinking about. Spilt your goal into three smaller steps then you will eventually build your habits. Last but not least, evacuate your goals by considering how much weight you want to lose. If it is interesting then you feel the different and see the final results. The key to staying motivated is similar to fuel in a car—you don't need the motivation tank to be full to drive, you just need to prevent it from running empty, says Joshua C. Klapow, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and author of Living SMART: 5 Essential Skills to Change Your Health Habits Forever.
